The photograph of XV332, was taken over North East Scotland on the 14th February 1994, being one of many taken by Andrew Brooks for 208 Squadron during the final months of flying from RAF Lossiemouth.
Seen here, flown by Flt Lt Glenn Mason, the first pilot during the Gulf conflict to take a Buccaneer into war, at the controls of XW547 on the 2nd February 1991 and Flt Lt Phil Walters, the last navigator during the war, to laser designate a target for a Tornado from a Buccaneer, attacking an ammunition dump on the El Taqqadam Air Base on the 27th February 1991. (This attack can be clearly seen on the video 'Buccaneer-The Last British Bomber').
This photograph captures just where the 'Bucc' belonged and was at home....... Very very low-level at 580 kts.

As the imminent retirement date drew increasingly near, and while the final 'Bucc' sorties were being planned. It soon became clear that '332' was to be, the 'Last of the few' to fly.
As there were no other plans to mark this extremely important event, not only in aviation history, but in British, aviation history. After all..... This was, the last flight of the last British Bomber ever built.
So to commemorate this FINAL RAF BUCCANEER FLIGHT. It was decided, by the Squadron to fly a number of Photographic Prints taken by Andrew Brooks of XV332 actually onboard XV332!!

250 prints were commissioned and delivered to RAF Cottesmore on the 12th April 1994 to await the historic flight.
XV332 lifted off the ground at 1430 hrs on a bleak overcast April afternoon for the short trip to RAF Marham, flown by Flt Lt Dick Catterall and Flt Lt JJ Parsons. The flight would only take half an hour, so to make the occasion complete and following true RAF tradition, to bow out in a style befitting only a classic such as the 'Banana Jet'! '332' carried out airfield attacks at RAF Cottesmore, RAF Wittering and finally an attack at RAF Marham, followed by a flypast over 617 Sqn's HAS site.
(The Squadron assigned to move to RAF Lossiemouth and take over the duties carried out by 208 Sqn Buccaneers for so many years).

On approach, just visible through the grey, XV332 made her last ever decent to land.Touching down on Marham's runway at 1505 hrs on the 12th April 1994, she became the last ever RAF Buccaneer to fly over the British mainland, and thus closing the chapter on this awesome 'Last British Bomber'.

To formally mark the historic occasion Flt Lt Catterall and Flt Lt Parsons proudly posed beside XV332 for a photograph shaking hands and holding the Limited Edition Prints. (This photograph is included.)
