The
81st Fighter Squadron "Panthers" based at Spangdahlem
Air Base Germany,
deployed its A-10 "Warthog" aircraft to Italy in support
of the
NATO operation 'Allied Force'.
Whilst being tasked with combat search and rescue
alert missions,
The 81st destroyed or controlled the destruction of
hundreds of Serb tanks,
armored personnel carriers, artillery and mortars,
with no civilian casualties.
